Plum Creek Utilities

Plum Creek Utilities is a private entity serving the fast growing region of Austin, Texas. To meet the very stringent discharge requirements while permitting the phasing of treatment capacity, Gemini, Blue Coast Utilities and Texas Aquastore developed and implemented the first MBR for PCU in the fall of 2020. The plant was designed to provide an initial treatment capacity of 60,000 gallons per day (GPD) with the ability to expand to 180,000 GPD. The plant was commissioned in February 2021. To meet the growing wastewater flows of the service district, the plant was expanded to 180,000 GPD in the summer of 2021. Based on the performance of the plant, PCU has authorized the design and implementation of a second plant with an ultimate capacity of 300,000 GPD.
